Medical Assistant Salary and Jobs Information for Alaska

Overall, Alaska ranks 45th in medical assistant employment, but ranks #1 in terms of average annual salaries for medical assistants. So while there may be fewer jobs in the field, these jobs are paying some of the highest wages in the country.

It is interesting to note that while Anchorage currently has the largest number of medical assistant jobs; Fairbanks has the highest average annual salary. In fact the average salary in Fairbanks is almost 9% higher than in Anchorage.

The table also includes data for two areas that are not in the major metropolitan areas. The Southwest Alaska nonmetropolitan area overall has more employment than Fairbanks and has the highest average salary of any place in Alaska.
