Idaho Medical Assistant Salary and Jobs Information

Idaho State SealFor those of you who are looking for a job as a medical assistant in Idaho or you already have a job and you’re wondering how your current salary stacks up this is for you.

For employment, Idaho ranks 39th among the states with just over 2200 jobs.  This puts Idaho in the bottom half of the country for the current employment level.

Idaho’s state wide average annual salary at $29,310 ranks 28th in the country.

Within the state the Boise-Nampa area has clearly the lead in the number of people employed as medical assistants.  Employment is 1210. It is followed by Logan and Idaho Falls in that order.

At the other end, the Lewiston area is ranked last in the state for medical assistant employment with less than 100 jobs. Pocatello is also at the lower end with slightly higher employment at 130 jobs.

There is also data for four nonmetropolitan areas in the state. These are South central Idaho, East Idaho, Southwest Idaho and North Idaho in that order.

If you look at the average annual salary data, the Boise area is nosed out slightly by Coeur d’Alene but they are essentially equivalent. Both areas have average salaries just over $30,000.

In fact, except for the North Idaho nonmetropolitan area, the average annual salary is in a fairly tight range of $27,490 to $30,310.

Data of this type while recent, changes over time and is really only an estimate. There are many factors that can influence the salary of any one specific job. So remember when you’re looking for a job make sure you present your qualifications in the best light possible. Having a good resume and cover letter will go a long way in getting you in the door.
